Fuel gauge not working....

It was working fine untill the other day wken it showed the tank as empty. Does anyone know what the problem could be? And yes, I do have fuel in there...

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SENDER UNIT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK THEY AVE A BALL THAT FLOATS ON THE TOP LEVEL AND DEPENDING WHAT LEVEL IT SITS AT IT SENDS A SIGNAL TO THE GAUGE! THE SENSORS WEAR OUT AND DONT CONTACT PROPERLY USUALY AT THE BOTTOM FIRST ! I THINK THERE MEGA MONEY THOUGH BUT SOME KIND SOLE ON HERE MIGHT HAVE ONE IF YOU ASK NICELY

I would personally check the connections first, then remove the sender unit to see if it is stuck

YEAH ON THE SENDER (UNDER THE TANK) IT HAS THE CONNECTORS AND THEY ARE QUITE EXPOSED AND GET COVERED IN SH?T AND ROT OFF!

Cheers guys, I will go have a look. I let sum1 drive my car and they reversed over a traffic sign! Maybe it pulled the wires out or sumthin!
