wiring problem

HI every 1
right just took my dash out off my mk1 nova and when i removed the dials i realised that there was 2 black wires together which was just hanging there.
i havent a clue where they go but they are coming from the ignition barrel area.
but 1 more thing my car wont start unless i jump start it and when i turn it off and i try to start it normally without the jump leads i get nothink not even ignition lights has this black wire got anythink to do with it?

Sounds like Earths, when not connected the car goes crazy

Earth are generally brown. Black wires are switched lives.

Sounds like Earths, when not connected the car goes crazy no it doesnt earths are brown. those two black wires id put money on them being an immobiliser and being as they aren't connected to anything is probably why you have no ignition

if you have not got a immobiliser that you know of than i would say it is the ing live wires that need to go on the black box.
