Is it just early 1.6 Cavalier inner CV joints (big block engine and f16box etc) that fit the nova GTE/GSi etc etc shafts?

I have had 2 muppet CV joint 'specialists' tell me now that all 1.6 vaux cars are small block, and that all cav inner CV joints are the same.

They just rant on at me telling me I'm not listening that it can't be done. One guy today went on and on about the splines in the diff, it took nearly 5mins of trying to get a word in edgeways to explain the difference in the inner splines/drive shaft splines. Had the old 'all nova drive shafts are identical in every way' bollocks too.

lol, that's what I'm trying to do, but I'm not going to give money to a guy that insists any cav joint will do.

think I'm gonna take the old ones into my local factor with the GTE shafts and show him what I mean, then I can get a refund if he gets the wrong stuff. will just have to wait until I have time off work to actually go in.

cheers anyway.

just STRESS its a mark 2 cav

most will be used to ordering stuff for newer cars which everything hes claiming is correct - all 1600's after about 1987 were smallblock

before that they were bigblock tho
