Been looking at a set of FK coilovers and wanting some opinions on them
i think they are height adjustable but not rate adjustable ones
what are they like for ride/handling etc
my bro has spax coilovers and they are stupidly hard even on their soft setting, u hit some bumps on a corner and car spins up the wheels its bouncing around that much (and its only 1.2i)
i guess they are -60mm on the rear?
I've got Highsports on order for my mk3, will give you a rundown on MSN when they are on.
I have the Spax set up and I find they they are not harsh at all!
If anything they are less harsh than the Billys I had before!
They are set to approx halfway too!

Are the spax kit proper coilovers on the rear?

no they arent - just proper springs and shocks which is a much better idea imo
thats really strange will?
i find on my bros car u can jack up the front wheels and u can outrun the strut with the jack
ie u jack it up a few inches and the strut sloowly moves down and touches the road again which is obviously whats happening on the road causing the wheels to "lift off" on bumpy surfaces which is whats causing the wheelspin

i have the spax rsx coilovers and i dont think there that harsh. mine are on full soft setting for the road. they are very harsh when set on hard and driven on the road.
Is there any difference in stiffness when set on soft or hard. just thinking the adjusters on the shocks could be knackered.

i remember that turning it one way gave a very bouncy/twitchy ride
and the other way gave what we have now
one way the knob goes hard and the other way it just keeps turning
cant mind which way we ended up with it set but it was the less bouncy/twitchy version
its still very hard over bumps (ie mp3cd will skip) and seems to skip round corners if they are rough at all, tbh i think if it had more power it'd light the wheels up all the bloody time when cornering because of the way it bounces off the road
theres a few folk in here said they shouldnt be like that tho so maybe there is something wrong with them?
