Guys I am putting an SR cam in to my 1.2 next Tuesday. I have manual but would someone please do me a quick breafing on what to do and possible problems I can come across. Never done it before but I think I am not bad with the mechanics.
Any help will be much appreciated!

well unless u have fancy tools its a head off job
reasonably streight forward just make sure the mating faces are clean and dont have bits of old gasket on them when u fit new head gasket
you'll need new bolts for the head and prolly a new timing belt and water pump (or at very least the o-ring) as it wont seal after u move it

New water pump? Hmm.... Cant I use the original botls? How tight shall I put them back on and in what order?
Unless you wanna be taking it all apart again cos the head didnt seal properly I wouldnt advise using the old bolts.
If your gonna do the job its worth doing right. That means new gaskets, new cam belt and, as Aragorn said, at least a new o-ring for the water pump.
I tried to cut certain corners when I did mine and am now having to strip the whole thing down again. If I'd listened to the advice I was first given (by Aragorn actually  ) then I wouldnt have twice the work to do.

i re-used bolt when my 1.2 head gasket went. Was fine for 8-9 months then i swaped to 1.3.
i wouldn't advise it though, i didn't really have a choice at the time.

the bolts are stretch bolts and they could technically be reused as long as theyve returned to standard length after removing them
however bolts can fatigue and this could cause them to snap when torquing them back up

Ok I shall go and get some new bolts and the water pump or the o-ring. I have the manual so should be ok!
So No one has any idea about the timing set up i guess?

YOU NEED TO GET THE BOTTOM END LINED UP (PISTON 1/4 SHOULD BE TOP AND 2/3 DOWN) THERE WILL BE MARKS ON THE BOTTOM END (PULLY NEEDS TO BE OFF)
WITH THE TOP END YOU NEED TO LINE IT UP ( THERE IS A HOLE I THE PULLY) LINE IT UP WITH THE CASE HOUSEING.
TO MAKE SURE IT IS IN THE RIGHT PLACE TAKE THE DISSY CAP OFF AND THERE IS METEAL PLATE (CANT THINK OF THE NAME) IT SHOULD BE WHERE THE SPARK PLUG IS (NUMBER 1)
IF YOU ANT GOT A TIMMING LIGHT THEN I WOULD GET 1 MAKES IT MUCH EASYER. BE FOR YOU START TAKING THE ENGINE APART MARK UP EVERYTHING.
LOOK THOUGH THE HAYNES MANUAL AS WELL WILL HELP YOU.
( I KNOW WOT I MEAN WHEN TYPING THIS BUT IF YOU DONT IM SORRY LOL!!!!!????)
YOU FANCY BUYING A PIPER CAM??
Its pretty much all in black and white in the Haynes!
