nova gear ratios

want some tec info,
i race a 1600 nova (autotesting)i was doing a btrda event at the weekend and noticed other nova's had a longer 1st gear than mine(autotesting is mainly 1st gear) what sort of gear ratios would be best to use and what models would they be in cheers carl
ps what i mean is would it be better to use a 1ltr box, a diesel box or a sr box. etc surley the ratios must be different?

the only gear ratios that you can change properly are 5th gear and the FD the rest (1-4) are kinda fied as in you haveto keep what ever 1-4 you get in a given cluster

the final drive is the only adjustment u really have

and the strange thing is the 1.6GTE box has a longer final drive (3.74) than standard nova gearboxes so really u should have a longer first that everyone else?

unless u dont have the original box or yours has been tinkered with
