none, as 2L are so common they have gone all old and gray and are in a hospital :!:

I think you should try a 1.1 fiesta lump, it has to be the pulse type engine. Should smoke your 2.0 any day and rattle more :P

"stick an XE in it mate" its like the most boring thing ever these days

the XE is 20bhp up on power so will likely be quicker but i would still rather have a smallblock

2.0 8v 115bhp
2.0 16v 150bhp

Will be alot faster.

2.0 8v - 115bhp
2.0 8v SEH - 130bhp
2.0 16v - 150/155bhp.

the 8v is more likely to have more low down torque though.

eg the golf 1.8 8v smokes the 1.8 16V to about 80-90 and then the 16v really gets going (from what ive been told, before the golf nutters come in and spank me)

I doubt that. It just has more peaks and troughs (sp) in the curve.

There is a reason why 16v's are common. You get a bloody quick car for little money. There are so many people that are way to quick to diss these days....

like austin said the reason why there are so many xe novas is because its the cheapest way to get a nova to go quick. Simple as really. A 150bhp 1.6 nova would be more interesting but you need to spend about 2k on it moer than converting to a xe.

oh i dotn disagree, ? per bhp its the best value way to hit 150bhp, but its getting a tad dull these days lol.

but hey each to their own!

on the torque front the 16v does have more but the 8v comes in lower and climbs faster to its peak which gives the impression of a more torquey engine as u simply dont have to rev it as hard to get it moving

rev the 16v properly and it will produce more torque

i find this even with my bro's 1.2i

at low rpm's (say 2000) my 1600 16v feels gutless and although his car has much less power its much more willing to pull from 2000rpm which gives the impression its quicker at slower speeds

I prefer the seh, big fan of the smaller block.

thats why i'm choosing to get around the same power from a small block.
:)

The SEH uses the same size block as the 20SE and 20XE
