So i bought a nova GTE for ?200 expecting to hace to do some work on it, and it turns out the MOT man says it's past it!

Both Front Inner Wings Holed
Battery Box Holed
NearSide + Offside Front Chassis Holed
NearSide + Offside Front Floor Holed
NearSide + Offside Inner Sill Holed
Offside Rear Chassis Severley Holed
Offside + Nearside Inner Rear Inner wing Holed
Nearside Rear Wheel Arch Sharp Edges

and the wheel bearings are knackered...

It runs real well, shame it's a death trap...

i have a talent of making things complex.

no the car's FCUK'd.

does anyone know what i can do with it? I'd like to swap the engine n stuff to another car but a good nova shell is gonna be expensive, and a cheap nova shell is gonna be in the same condition.

err u can get decent nick novas for reasonable amounts of cash if u look hard enough

i'd go hunting for a low spec 1.2i model owned by some old person - my bro found one for ?400 at it was near enough mint just a little rust on the rear arch

u can then stick the engine and interior (bar the dash as mk1 dash is shite) into the new shell and fit a mpi pump from an astra to get it all running - dont bother fitting the GTE tank as its a waste of time

u can also fit the bumpers etc if u want the mk1 look and all u need to do is swap the front wings over

?600 for a mint GTE isnt really that bad is it?

That sounds like a master plan to me. Shouldn't be too difficult, (i've done an engine swap on a Mini before) should be a good laugh.
