When buying an amp do I have to take into consideration the output of the tweeters?
By this I mean the comps that I have say they put out 300w peak (100w rms) but I checked the speakers and the woofer is 300w (100w rms) and the tweeter is 150w (50w rms). Does this mean I will have to get an amp that puts out 300w (100w rms) per channel or 450w (150w rms)?
They will be running through a crossver if that makes a difference?

Cheers all

ps......just in case you ask the entire system will be running @ 4ohms.

You'll want an amp that can output 50W rms to the tweeters, and 100W to the woofers - assuming you have two tweeters ane one woofer, you could get an amp that runs 50Wx4 and bridge two of those channels to power the sub.

To be honest, if you tweetes are only 50W RMS you may as well just run them direct from the HU and leave the amp to power the sub/s.

It still doesnt answer the question as to whether I need a 600w (200w rms) or 900w (300w rms) amp!
