Ive got 15'' Alloys on my Nova mk2, I think they are a 40 offset, would i be ok to lower 40mm?? I think the tyres are low profile as they end in /45. Any help would be great, cheers

this is a question i was guna ask i have lowering 35 40 was wondering if i can av 16s on her
Should be ok on 15s, but you might find you get a little scrubbage on bumps. I had 195/45/15 on et38 lowered about 40mm to start with on std dampers, and rear arches rolled. I'd assume if you used uprated dampers you might be a little better off.
average offset is 45/49 so (iirc) they're further out towards the arch.
If you lower you may get scrubbage but you cal grind arches/roll them.
Then again - someone here recently had the alloys skimmed to adjust the offset???
Might be worth investigating...save shagging up the arches...

The ride will be quite a bit stiffer and feel more responsive with a tighter feel around corners.
The standard dampers will wear out faster especially if they're already old. IMO its always best to get a full set of springs and dampers so the dampers are made for stiffer springs.
Can't say for sure cos I've never had a -40mm setup but I'm guessing its something like the -60mm I've got but not as bumpy/stiff lol

just finally dropped mine by 30mm on 195 50 r15s...the scrubbage was a right pain ( mr angle grinder came out to play ) but the end result was well worth the effort.
Stick with it mate - the handling will be miles better- just remember if you go for the grind option - slap the underseal on like lard - thick n heavy.
you'l be dissapointed by -40mm... i was

195/50/15 on 30mm will put the top of the tyre in the same place as 195/45/15 on 40mm. Well, 0.25mm difference...
