Sunroof drains?!?!

I've been fitting an electric window/central locking loom to my SR this evening to replace the standard central locking one and noticed the front drain tubes for the factory fitted sunroof. They just seem to dangle down into the sill area just behind the wheelarches... is this right? Surely the whole idea of a drain is it drains out the bottom of the car like they do in my Cav, these seem like they'd just fill the sills up with water!!!
