just had a look at the ron plug on my early xe loom. it has an A and B on it rather than the normall 95 98 am i right in saying that
A=95 and B=98 :?:

also is the side that determines what side of the plug you are using, the side with the clip that holds the plug in.

if so ive been on the lower ron. not had chance to drive the car as its cold, no petrol and its late too see if its made a difference. but having it on the higher setting im assuming advances the timing to suit. am i right :?:

its late XEs that have the And B, (well my 93 one does) its to do with ignition... Haynes manual mentions it breifly

mine is the earliest you can get. no lamder and with a dizzy. and it has the a b plug

I think the AB plug is summit do with emissions.
I think the fuel type/timing advance etc is done using the engines knock sensor, they don't have a ron plug.
