GTE running gear into 1.2i Merit

I have a twisted GTE (88model) which is twisted at the front end (brother drove into a kerb...HARD!)..

Anyhow, i have been offered a cheap 1.2 Merit (1992 Vintage!) and am thinking of dropping the GTE lump into it....

The main thing i want to know, is if the 1.2i Petrol tank is fine for use etc. I.e. Being an injection tank....

As I have gathered from my time on this site, you need an mpi fuel pump. The 1.2i was only spi so the pump will have to be changed.

i have all the gte complete its just there is a leak from the gte'sfuel tank so i had hoped it would save me having to source another aswell....
