View Full Version : Fitting 6" components in rear quarters

Anybody got any ideas on how to fit 6" component speakers(with 1" tweeter) in the rear quarter panels, for back seat passengers to enjoy!!

lol! tried that, but I made the hole too big and had to get some new panels!!!

?? make a smaller hole 1st and then gradually make it as big as you need?

yeah, but the panels aren't flat and if I start to use loads of fibreglass, it makes the panel too heavy for the supports and then it vibrates. I think I'll just tell people in the back to use a walkman!! :)

I used dead sound on my rear 1/4 pannels. I did the whole boot, the number plate and the door speakers as well and it came to about ?65. But the sound quality is mint.

i wouldnt try to fit any six inch object into my rear quarters ,that sounds harsh

i put 6*9's in the back of ma mk2 and all i did was used a wee bit ov mdf and some filler, it looks well minted

get yourself some heavy cardboard and draw round your back panels,i did and have fitted a set off 6*9s then put carpet on them
