first mods??

hi ive just sold my 1300 nova l and bought a k reg 1200l and would like to no what insurance friendly mods i can do to my engine to give it more power as i dont want me mates 106 1.1 to p*ss allover my nova thanx in advance

Basic engine mods for a carb would be, Insurance friendly -

K&N Bolt on air filter
New HT Leads
New Spark Plugs - depending on how long since last change
Maybe go as far as a new distributor cap

I noticed a slight diffence in the general running of my car after spraying some carb/intake cleaner directly into the carb whilst off - leave for 5mins turn on and the ammount of crap that comes out is fairly impressive.

Very good read if you fancy beefing your 1.2 up a bit. I am currently starting to carry out a carb change. Have 3 carbs laying around atm :? Pierburg 1EB, Pierburg 2E3 and a Weber 32/34! Eek!

a k-reg 1.2 is going to be an spi job i'm pretty sure.

if the air box is held on with 2 bolts its a 1.2i

3 bolts means carb

if its a 1.2i then i have a tuning guide in the technical guides sticky at the top of the main forum
