Well the morning started early as I had to sort a petrol leak out and get the car loaded up ready to go. The appointment was at 1030am but wanted to be there nice and early.

On the ramp fixing petrol leak

Loaded, the front bumper was very close so it looks like we might have to make some new ramps for when the car is finished to its final spec

Truck packed up and car away

The overall result was good, it passed with no problems whatsoever. There was no scratching to the paint work, so I am happy (and more than be Glenn will be happy as it means he doesnt have to do any touching up). The freaky part was when we were loading the car back on to the truck at the test centre and a lorry driver walked over and said nice car. Then asked if I was going to Belgium in it :o Quite freaked out I answered "Yes, how do you know?" And it turns out his son or son-in-law has a metalflake burgandy XE who goes to Treffen every year, he goes by the name of Paul? So all-in-all I am rather chuffed and I am going to celebrate by going to work for a couple of days and not touch a spanner or look under the bonnet of a car!!

THE END

All the suspension, brakes and engine are getting fitted on sat along with the JP exhaust. So it will be out for a run on Sunday I would imagine, then put away ready for Donny show next weekend, then a final check over and make sure everything is fine before it goes to Treffen and the Ring on 28th April

nice, why did it need this test anyway? was it a write-off or something?

Loaded, the front bumper was very close so it looks like we might have to make some new ramps for when the car is finished to its final spec

parking the lorry on a hill will help a bit. How low are you dropping it?

Front bumpers are easy to whip off anyway as another alternative.

It will be going down at least 60mm, we are currently looking into making some more ramp to go on the current ones, none of the cars we want to get on there will go at the moment lol

we used two ladders with wood screwed to them in the past. worked a treat to make the ramps longer so it does not hit the bumper

Glad it all went smoothly for you chris, looking forward to seeing it lowered with the engine in

As for the trucker who came over, you would know his sons car if you seen it. He is at most of the shows over the summer, and yes he will be going to belguim as hes been going for years. Should be nice now with the xe in.

Speak to you soon mate.
