What are your opinions on Karthiks Nova (on 19's, was on front cover of Fast Car).
And the fact that he's started his own business, called Type-K?
He's a sound bloke, the idea's he comes up with are amazing.. wait until you see his next cover car, gonna be v good ;)
I wish his business all the best luck...

Mingdom styling (if you can call it that)
BEng (hons) just isnt enough, i need a Msc too!
Mingdom is Kingdom. Type K Styling has nothing to do with Kindgdom what so ever.

I was going to say that i thought the Nova was crap. Well it isn't really though, i think i was only thinking that because people keep saying it's the best ever. And that, it isn't, because it might be to Karthik or some people, but everyone has different opinions on what they think is very important - speed, handling, looks or other stuff (like I.C.E.) And it is not possible to have the best of all those categories as fashions change (which influence ideas) and new products are released all the time. i.e. I think 19's look fuckin' great, but are not the optimum size for handling and etc. You could take Brett's car (cover of Revs) and have 19's fitted to it (the handling of it at the moment is better than Karthiks Nova's), but would it then be claimed to be better than K's Nova? Probably not, as opinions are different. (I don't know what point i'm trying to make now. Bollocks!)The car is not crap though.
Also, i was going to slate him for starting his own business by saying - ...oooh, what an original name (isn't your bumper called Type-K?),although you'll claim the K is for Karthik. And wow, you paid to buy some 19's, and paid someone to fit them...and paid someone to provide the bodywork bits, paint and fit them...and paid someone for the i.c.e and re-trim. You are very talented at paying people - maybe you should start your own business? That way people could pay you for things that they want doing to their car, and you could keep some of their money and use the rest of it to pay people who know how do give the customers what they actually want. Nice talent!
Although that would be unfair too, as i don't really know if you did are work on the car yourself. And if not maybe you actually can, but couldn't be bothered/no time etc. I mean i paid someone to fit my suspension, but i do this for all my friends (free of charge, coz i love working on cars, but when it came to my car i thought why not? I've spent ?700 on suspension and they only want another ?20 to fit it. Might as well let them, saves me having to wash my hands (plus i have a legal remedy if something 'goes wrong'). Plus it's better to have great ideas and pay someone for the work, than to pay someone for their ideas and the work. people that do this and start a business from getting a car featured piss me off.
And to run a business all you need is business skills. If you have good ideas, you hire staff (which you'll need anyway if the business expands, which it would if it's successfull), and get the people with the right skills to carry-out your ideas/customers ideas. So i guess you can't say someone shouldn't start a business unless they do all the work themselves, as that is stupid.
I GUESS WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT I WAS GOING TO SAY ALLSORTS OF NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT KARTHIK, BUT I'VE REALISED IT'S JUST COZ OF JEALOUSY AND THAT I HAVE A LOT OF ORIGINAL AND MAD IDEAS, BUT NOT ENOUGH FUNDS (GRADUATE LAWYER, WON'T BE LONG NOW! YEA! THOUGH I'M THINKING OF PACKING IT ALL IN AND DOING SOMETHING WITH CARS?! HMM?)TO MAKE THEM HAPPEN SO OTHERS CAN SEE WHAT'S IN MY HEAD.
AT THE END OF THE DAY IS ALL ABOUT RESPECT!
I mean coming on here and saying 'i could have a Nova with 19's and Turbo and etc' doesn't have the same impact as someone getting this carried out and featured in a magazine, but what is the difference? Money? The other person might never carry-out his ideas because they simply cannot afford it (could be for other reasons), but why should the person that has the money and pays someone to do the work get the respect? The respect goes to the person who does the actual work then, and not the person with the ideas?
And 'having amazing ideas' is not enough to run a business, unless you have the staff who have the abilities to carry-out those ideas. And even then it doesn't mean that you're better than someone else, beacause they may have shit ideas, but have lots of talent and knowledge to carry-out other peoples amazing ideas. A BUSINESS WHICH CAN CARRY-OUT IT'S CUSTOMERS 'AMAZING IDEAS' GETS MY RESPECT (EVEN IF IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY IDEAS OF IT'S OWN), although one that can do this and come up with it's own original ideas will eventually succeed, as the finished products will be like advertising (not for the ideas, but for the quality of the work, although the crazier the ideas the more attention it will draw).
Shit, i don't even know why i'm writing this crap. and it's 5am now. Anyway, GOOD LUCK WITH THE BUSINESS KARTHIK.
I think i was jealous/pissed off that they called your Nova 'the ultimate' as i am still bulding my own into what i think IS the ultimate, although the ultimate does not exist for the exact same reasons i have for saying that yours is not the ultimate. And i was going to say that your ideas aren't amazing either - wow 19's (how many people have thought about it themselves/before you? but just couldn't afford to get it done), and the performance stuff - it's all impressive, but it's just the stuff that you would do to get more power and yours has more because you spent more money and 'bought more stuff', IT'S NOT LIKE YOU'VE INVENTED NEW TOTALLY ORIGINAL AND NEVER BEFORE SEEN OR THOUGHT OF PRODUCTS. BUT THEN AGAIN NEITHER HAVE I. AND I'M THINKING OF STARTING MY OWN BUSINESS TOO (though my feature/demo car might not be as impressive as yours. But then again, maybe it will be even more so. Until the next person comes along.)I THINK I SHOULD JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP NOW. SO I WILL.

Erm.... lol, i think ....!!
cool marty:
I did do most of it myself, 3 years of work. I can back up my statements too!
I was also a law student and im not dumb either (2a*s, 7as and a b at gcse and As in maths, chem, bio and art at a-level).
I never claimed the nova was the ultimate, and i am starting up a bodyshop coz of the probelms i had down south. There aint none here. I see it as an investment. And i love cars :D
I have also got a CCNA in networking and am studying for my CCNP, so im not just a "rich boy", and i didnt pay for everything on my nova, as i said i did a lot with my friends help(again i have photos to back this up).
I have 100% respect for Brett and love his nova! And quite honestly i didnt ever think mine was the best, i can name many that are better and if yu have actually spoken to me in real life yu may see this!!!!
As i said, give us a chance, my sprayer is amazing!!!!!
And i will have a cover car out soon which hasnt cost the earth and i have done all the work myself so far!!!
And it has the best of all worlds! Fast engine, crazy bodywork, big wheels and mad sounds!!
So as i said, please dont judge me when yu dont know me, those who do may be able to tell yu that im not a up my own arse twat who thinks his shitty B reg nova is the bollox!!
EWrm... i hope i havent bored everyone :-/

Fester - it was after 5am, and i was half asleep. And it was not an argument, merely me writing down what was going on in my head.
And I'm not having a go at Karthik, i don't even know him.
If you too the time to read what i wrote you'd see that basically i was saying (i think, though i did not proof-read it) that i was jealous of people calling his car 'the ultimate' and also, since i don't know him/his talents and reasons for starting his own business, i'm waiting to let his work 'do the talking', rather than generally 'arse-licking' like a lot of people are doing (mainly on the cruise-south forum). After all, nearly every person that gets his/her car featured in a magazine ends up 'starting their own business', don't they? And some of them do not have any talent, when it comes to cars, at all (apart from paying people).
Also - I definitely didn't call you stupid. And law is shit. I do really well in it, but it bores me shit-less, so i'm going to do something else for a career. Rather than have 'a job that slowly kills me', even if it does pay well.
K - i bet your next car's a PRELUDE?! On Airbags.

I made observations on both negative comments (which i was going to make, before i thought about why and realised i had no reason to make them) about K's car and also about people saying how talented he is (and how good his business will be), just from seeing the nova in a magazine and not even knowing who did the work. After-all, he could be the next Jamie Shaw (of Carisma).

nah mate.....most on the Cruise-south forum are mates so really.........everyone knows everyone (= no "arse-licking")......and have met everyone. (if you get what I mean)
?Marty?

You could be right, although some people are asking each other for pictures and if they'd all met they'd surely know what they all look like. So you can't be sure. Not that it matters.
getting out of hand now... stop the bickering please. We are all on the same side remember...

I hope people haven't got the wrong opinion of me.
I started the thread to see what statements people would make about the car, as it appears that people make unfounded comments about K himself, both negative and positive, rather than the car just because of him having a controversial cover car. I thought people might offer their reasons behind some of the statements i've observed, as i was curious as to why people get so worked up about it. I mean make comments about the car, everyone has opinions, but leave the poor (i don't mean financially) guy alone!
I also posted my reasoning about it, which came to the conclusion that it was unfair and unfounded (saying that the car is crap, and etc).

The car is bang-up-to-date - it's got the right Jap styling, big wheels, multimedia i.c.e. and with the big-power to match.
It seems to be very influential too, as a lot of companies (aspecially one's that specialise in novas - PNG etc) have reported a large number of customers inquiring about 19" alloys for their Novas'.
How many of you are going the huuuge wheel/jap styling route with your Nova's?
Hands up whos bored with this post?!
ME ME ME lol
BEng (hons) just isnt enough, i need a Msc too!
that's one extreme nova.

did the jap styling thing years ago, still has it, was prob one of the first (after pinky) but i draw the line at 17s anything bigger doesnt look right in my opinion, and i dont see the point in throwing handling and performance completely out of the window, cars are built to be driven not ornaments.
depends how many points on your license you have :>
