it doesnt have one - it has a screw on the throttle body to set idle and a mechanical valve to feed extra air in when its cold

sorry mate but it does. the mechanical one you are talking about works all the time as an ICV. its the same as the gsi one too. on the right hand side of the inlet manifold. try pinching the pipe to it and see if it stips jumping about

the cone on the right hand side is the coasting air valve - its designed to lean out the fuel mix at high rpm low throttle conditions to stop popping etc

the idle control is set via a screw on the throttle body

a dodgy coasting air valve might cause dodgy idle - but that doesnt mean its an idle control valve - EGR can cause dodgy idle too if it sticks open, but an EGR valve isnt an idle control valve?

check the EGR and maybe give the throttle body a clean with carb cleaner?

thanks guys im gonna try the coastal air valve thing now and see wat happens. :D
ill let u know wat happens.
ive nearly changed everything on the engine to see if it was a dodgy sensor or something but it was still happenin.

never even though that the c.a.v would do that. :o
