Well today me and a few mates wer doing some work on cars,as the sun was out and we got time off,got quite a bit done today ove at neils(novaneil) neil was helping his mate out by spraying up his front buper that had been cracked, and me and my mate mike had been getting on with a few jobs on his 1.6 8v..

Well neil said right lets get this cam belt back on,so we all tryed to losen it of by adjusting the water pump postion, but could we move it

Dam thing was solid, took three of us about an hour with heating it up and smaking it do death to move it,now it needs replacing as its fooked :? ah well best idea when you consider it was stuck in by about 5mm of scale and shit

i had the same problem when i came to take out the pump off my 1.6 8v last weekend.

Mine was Dried in though as it hadn't seen any water for a few months.
Took me about 30 mins bashing it (not too hard) with a hammer/chisel/wood etc. Finaly it budged a bit and then it came out.

Got a new one to go in, good job as there is a fair few chips of metal come away from it.

i split my water pump in two the other weekend hitting it with sledge hammer. it had melted to the block spent about 2 hours chisseling the remains of melted ally of the block
