Cleaning the EGR valve

I've got the EGR valve off my parents Mondeo, but how do you go about cleaning it? There's no obvious crap thats clogging it up, so can you soak it in de-greaser or something to clean out the insides that you cant get to??

Or if there is no obvious blockages does this mean that the EGR valve is not the cause of the engine 'missing' slightly?

Any info appreciated :D

Okay mate, well for this question we'll pretend it's the EGR valve from my gsi then :wink:

Plus, they want to sell it but need it running better before they advertise it :lol:

Job done, soaked it in petrol. Didn't seem that dirty though so it may not be the problem :?
