mk2 bumpers on a mk1 shell

hi,
bought some mk2 bumpers to fit on mk1 as the bodykit was stolen off of it... and can't seem to get the mk2 bumpers to line up with the wings or lights. anyone know why or is there anything i have to do to get them to fit? or will they not fit at all??

errrrr im not sure mate but i hope there is a way around it cos i want to do the same thing with my MK1 lol :lol:

it will fit but there will be a gap between the bumper and lights

and i take it you mean the bolt holes dont line up on the wings, you will have to drill new holes

if youre trying to fit a mk2 bumper on mk1 wings it wont fit right.

The mk2 wings have a little strip of metal that go under the mk2 lights that are thinner then the mk1 ones. Alse the grill wont look right.

Also - its possible (debate here) that the carriage bar for the mk1 is slightly different to the mk2 so the legs wont go in the holes (might be wrong though)

If you want to upgrade the front end of the car you need the following -

2 x mk2 frfont wings
2 x heat lights and indicators (clear ones)
1 x mk2 front grill
1 x mk2 front bumper (get GSi one) - with carriage bar and legs
1 x mastic to reseal the wings when you take them off.

While there if you havent sdone so change your side indicators

The rear bumper should fit fine regardless of mk1 or mk2.

when they stole the Kit did they damage anything when rippin it off?? remember the only thing they they dont wanna damage is the kit, they couldnt care bout nething else!
