the car has been off the road for a few days as it wouldn't start.

called out an auto electrician as i had to be in work.
tells me it was a fuel pump relay, cosy about ?20 from lookers

well, i find a spare one in the garage and try it, no joy.
so i try the fuel rail pressure (thanks chris16v for this info)
and no fuel pressure.
got to be the pump. so i order the diamphram damper which i snapped when i had to change fuel pump etc.

total costs, relay ?21 + vat
diamphram damper ?36 +vat
so gonna cost ?70, and parts be in today.
i phone them, and they said they had probs with the factory which is 5 mins from house.
anyway, cant wait till tues/wed for parts.
go to local car garage
new relay ?19 +vat and got some rear spacer's for wheels. he even knocked ?4 off them for me.
fitted my old pump from other one i had in garage (as broke the other bit)

it starts
:D

bring on york dragway on sunday.

i imagine if you owned a BMW, or an Alfa, they cost a fortune to run/repair..

it's all relative.
