car stereo shuts down...

sometimes when i brake
sometimes when i use the signal lights
sometimes when i just hit s bump on the road
and sometimes by itself

during my last ride it stayed on for 15 minuets without no problems.

what the??

any ideas people?

is it a shortcut? power shortage? or what?

it's a new car stereo and it worked fine till i messed something up there.

Have you done anything electrical (i.e. wired in anything new) since it started going wrong?

could be a dodgy connection id check them all even a break in the cable could cause this

i used have this problem wih my rwd kadett (chevette) if i turned on the fan or pressed the brakes or indicate the radio would cut out as it turned out there was too much of a draw on the current or not enough being produced. i tightened up the fan belt and it was fine for a while .but when i fitted a higher output alternater everything was fine and my 4 cibie oscars got even brighter :)
