hi folks. i have a mk1 sr which has been on 60 mm springs and shocks since i bought it. for the last 6 months it has been on 4 axel stands with no wheels as i was doing 2.0l brakes, new slam pannel, mk2 face lift etc. i recently fitted a set of 17's and dropped it off the stands but there is no way i can put it on the road like this as it would damage the new front wings and probly the tyres. any ideas?? the rear archs have been rolled already. is 40mm springs and shocks the answer as i really want to keep the wheels( or does it have to be 16's )?? what do i do??? thanks. You won't get 16s on lowered 60mm, unless the wheels are speedlines, forget trying get 17s on.
Are the alloys the correct offset? 45-49?
60mm is just about possible with 15s and a good offset i think.
16s and 40mm would be better.

I had 17" tsw venoms (ET40!!) and a 60mm drop, front and rear arch's rolled-not ANY rubbing whatsoever. So it is possible, although springs vary between makes-mine were Pi. You may have more trouble if using Gmax because from what i've seen and heard they sit a fraction lower than other makes.

Get her back on the axle stands and batter the arches everyway but in, touch uo the cracked paint work, get everyone you know in and stand smiling as you show them even though there not bothered. Thats what i always do.
