130bhp 1400

Right, i've spent a lot of money getting it sorted and finially i've got my engine sorted. Its a 1400spi, ported and highly polished, a Kent Cam, Adjustable Vernier Pulley, Janspeed 4 branch, PowerFlow Exhaust and a 1600 Cav throttle bodie (?) and a lightened flywheel. Thought, Ahhh, that'll do. Then a wee local Prick who's Mummy gave him what he would describe as "a Mint Nova, cleaner than yours" knocks at my door looking for some bits and tells me he's got a 2.0 8v from an SRi Cav stuck in it and now he's boasting that it'll be faster than mine. :x Now, i dont mind that, he's all mouth but you can be sure he'll have told everyone else as well. So, what else can i do to make my 1400 kick sh1t out of his oil burner?

Twin 140's, larger valves with wasted stems and make sure the cam is at least a kent ast2 or piper 300. You'll be easily faster with that and would be looking at a possible extra ?600.

u really need to get rid of the spi system for more power

i hate to dissapoint but some of those mods are pointless - 1600cav tb is identical to yours for instance ;), and if someones polished the inlet tract go boot them in the balls as thats a BAD thing, polishing the exhaust side on the other hand is fine

i also hope youve decatted it and fitted a decent 4branch inplace of the std 4-1 item

^^ lol good one that, well if urs is or started a 1.4 spi ur having to come from 60bhp.. he straight away has well over 100bhp. i think for all ur twin 40's head/cam/zaust etc ull only tuck over the 100bhp mark...? like someone suggested i think u have to break out a bottle of whoopass (nos)

its not like you need that much power to beat him, they only make about 115bhp so your 1400 with few extras would easily shame him. Plus he sounds right a right bitch, and i doubt he knows how drive fast anyway. Get him on the track if he thinks its so rapid, if he bitches out then he's not worth the trouble

I've stripped her out, 2 Kevlar buckets, Sparco 4 points and a 12 stack JVC Sterio. Thats it. What valves would you suggest MC, and where/how do i go about getting them wasted?
