Heater & Cooling system

Rite well ever since i got the nova the heater has not worked, the engine its running is a 2L 8v bottom end with 1.8 GTE astra head, finally got round to looking at it today, was a lot of gunge in the header tank so i flushed it and the radiator out with water, refilled the system again and started er up and left for a while to expell any air, tryed heater again and still no heat just cold air.. :? I left the engine running for another while and notice that it seems to built up alot of pressure after say 10mins of idling, the header tank was boiling and blowing water out all over the place, the engines not long after a re-build and isnt overheating or seem to be mixing oil and water, is this normal to build up so much pressure.. could it be linked to no heat coming through the heater?

if u run it for a while with expansion cap off it will boil over - thats normal

i'd disconnect the heater matrix pipes and flush the matrix thru with a hose

cheers muct try that at the weekend..

if i have to remove the matrix is it a dash out job?
