im preping my car for a LET which i havnt got yet. i know i need to give the chassis leg a good bash with a lump hammer to allow the alternator to fit. Could somebody let me know measuring from the bulkhead where this needs to be done and also how much of a pasteing to give it? or is there a better way of doing this?
cheers

the better way would be to cut out a slot out push it back then weld it back in its new position. Twating something as hard as you can cant really be a good thing. On mine ive done most of the leg due to moving the alternator for twin carbs but yuo will only need about a 10cm section cut out.

i think il cut n weld it as you say then.
surely it will decrease the Strength of the Chassis leg ?
i thought it was better to weld in some box-section (somehow) to maintain it's structural Safety
