textpad is better - It colours your code for you.

What's wrong with pen and paper?

Serously though I don't think FrontPage is that bad it's just fashionable to brand MS stuff as crap lol. The main thing I don't like about it isn't the editing stuff it's all the code it adds in!

Bad Gatesy!

my arse. Crimson is an ok text editor and I would recommend it if you need to FTp files as it is seemless and just like editing local files. However for all normal operation Textpad is the daddy.

Frontpage is BAD!

If you make a simple page in frontpage with a single line of text and save it, then open this up in a text editor you will see why!

Lots of random un-needed styles and garbage!

Dreamweaver has a specific "clean up frontpage HTML" function to strip it all out lol

There might be options within Frontpage to prevent it doing it's own thing but as default its pants!

did you try textpad kev?
I'm not saying Crimson is bad, it is ace, but i prefer textpad.
The FTPing/saving feature of Crimson cannot be matched though
