not worth it Fix Or Repair Daily springs to mind, plus they blow up all the time, 2ltr 16v turbo would absolutely nail it and novas are made for them and easier to convert? plus ud be putting a nova to shame if you put one of them things in?

would be good, the ford 2l turbo unit is a far stronger engine than the chocolate LET that VX made!

go for it, the conversion could be difficult with totally custom exhaust, some oddball gearbox arrangement etc

but if youve got the cash and time and nerve go for it!

Thought the CVH RS turbo lump was a 1600 and the YB(cosworth/pinto) was a 2l lump iirc.
If thats the case then the YB is a longtitudinal(?sp) engine and therefore designed to be RWD or 4x4 unless you've got the room to turn it 90 degrees and put an uprated RS box in there. Even then the box wont take more than standard bhp (approx 230bhp) limiting tuning.
Obviously the RWD and 4x4 conversions can be done but your looking at starting prices of about ?15k.

But then again I might be completely wrong :wink:

Good luck. and if you decide not to then sell me the engine for my scort. By the way i did used to have a nova hence i come on this website. Would be hard sorting out engine mounts. A hell of a lot of fabrication there. And pretty much the front end of the car would need altering to fit all the running gear etc, then the prob of getting drive to the wheels. Unless the shafts are the same you may need custom ones that go from an RS box to nova hub/wheel. sounds cool though. And RST engines are great!!!

With you all the way there epo......... There, is at times, some severe narrow mindedness on this site. At the end of the day we are all modders and should appreciate, even if we dont agree with, other peoples ideas etc.

Trowell86.......YB=230bhp standard ............
C20LET=200bhp standard :wink:

Intresting one this. In my view it depends on what you really want. If you want a challenge and (I should imagine) a one off car, go for it. If you really wanted you could make it RWD for even more fun! :twisted:

But if your wanting a fast Nova there are easier ways than putting in a RS Turbo lump. If this is the case then I would sell the RS Turbo engine and then buy one of the easier engine options to put in the front of a Nova.

At the end of the day its up to you but if it was me I would go for an easier option. But than again you ain't me :lol:

Get an old Escort, hack the front end out, get a Nova and hack the front end out, put the Escort front end into the emtpy Nova front end, fit the RS engine/box/ecu etc etc, then get custom hubs/brakes and exhaust.
Job sorted.

I reckon it would be cool to have a rs turbo engine in a nova and to make it rear wheel drive would be even better.

And tell me, you ever raced a 250bhp RST? NO, probably cuz it'd eat you up and sh1t you out you silly uneducated little boy. Epo, you're right again mate.

Rst's are the nuts, go for it mate, it could be done and its a fairly light engine, wouldn't add too much weight to the front end. There''s bound to be someone willing to take on the job. Was offered a 180bho RST myself, cheap but the chassis are a bit of a mess so if it works, i'll do it as well!!!

Cheers guy's (most anyway) i may be aquiring a very rare nova saloon pickup soon so am thinking of sticking it in that and powering the rears oohhh yes. And the engine is a cvh/zetec hybrid that my dad made up. it'll go like shit off a wet stick hopefully ready for the vaux show at santa pod. :twisted:
