Im gonna be undertaking a project engine build, basically il be using a 14nv bottom end and a multipoint 1.4 head, basically i want to run it using carb, but i want to know which inlet manifold and gasket i should use, ie a 1.4sr or a 1.3 sr. I know this has been done loads, but when i checked the parts catalogue today in autoparts store i discovered it lists the multipoint as using a different inlet gasket from both 13sr and 14sr engines? any one done this before?

folk having done it ususally use twin 40's and there are manifolds available for those to fit the 1.4 mpi head
the best u can hope for is to get a 1300 inlet and match up the ports as best u can
As just said, you can use a 1.3SR manifold, but you will need to get someone to infill with aluminium weld to match the shape. I have done it before using a friend who is a very good welder. If you do not know anyone, then it will be far cheaper to use a set of twin 40's, plus it will be alot more powerful with 40's.

can't you use a 14nv manifold and open the ports to match the c14se head? i open my head out to match the 1300 manifold

14nv ports are miles out
positioned higher and to the right of SE ports
you'd have ported thru the edge of the manifold before u were lined up on 2 of the ports
