Got Flashed :(

I just got flashed in a 50 doing about 70 :( (yes dickh??d i know) but how many points will i get ???? if or when it comes through

3 if yer lucky. Then again I've been flashed several times on the same stretch in Glasgow (well over 12 months ago now) n not received anything. Some flash to shit u up n others coller ya. Doesnt mean that cameras not set up mind - be aware of it in future.
Heard a rumour they dont send anything out till youve been flashed 3 times within a 6 month period - 3 strikes n yer out kinda thing. Dunno if its true or just an urban motoring myth (like driving like a banshee with a nuke up its ain-arse means u use less petrol cos u get to yer destination quicker!)

Cheers anyway just checked it out and its 3points and ?60 if i had been doing 76 or over then it would have been more!!

If it dont come in 14-17days then im ok.

I spoke to one of my best mates who has just been banned and he got done doing 45 in a 30 and 46 on the way back :( - he was only taking the car for a blow out for work

anyway he went to court and apealed - and lost :(

I'm sitting on 3 points at the moment and have only been driving a year next month, so i gotta go v. careful for the next year or im in the brown stuff aswell .

Theyre slowly starting to place yellow tiling on gatso's around my area (Bucks, Berks) which make them a lot easier to see, specially in the dark .

weird - I thought they had to put them lines down aswell so they could judge how fast u were going at the time (for your reference). The camera is triggered by speed through the lines the fatser u go the further along the lines u are and thats how they work out approx speed (although the camera has a speedo it too mind so they can slate u extra!). It might be a double camera - one of them ones that is set up with a partner 100 yrds down the road - the 1st flashes u when speeding and records speed, and then tells it partner 100yds down the road. The second one only flashes u if u havnt slowed down since the 1st flash. Diff counties have diff set ups. The worst ones are those that get you if u go 1-2 miles above limit. Need to check yer calibration on speedo for them - or drive like an old geeza!

if u hear nothing within 14 days ur ok they cant charge ya :) if you do, doh but thats life, u were breaking the law after all!

For reference in a 30 limit its 3 points if ya get done 31-49 i believe and 6 points for 50 and over obviously more points if ur doing silly speed! not 100% on this but i think its rite :D

no its 17 days they have to have sent it by the 14.... then a few days for delivery!! "THE DVLA"
