New Car - Boot question

The Nova I have just bought has got no boot supports, so unless there's a piece of wood handy, it's likely to chop your head off. It's got an Abyss Spoiler (I think) on the top. Is there any reason (coz of the spoiler) why I can't stick boot side supports in, and is it a tricky job to do so?

sometimes the captive nut on the inside of the tailgate/c pillar can snap off

u may find its snapped and thats why its missing

if its in the c pillar u can elongate the hole next to it and get your finger in with a nut and washer to attach the ball joint

if its the tailgate u may well need to weld something on
