standard nova offsets are 49 if i remember rightly, would it be a bad idea to fit wheels with an offset of 40? or maybe even 35? as the numbers go down the wheels get closer to the arches don't they, or do they get closer to the suspension? i forget

it would be a bad idea

always stay as close as you can really , you can fit lower offsets but may need flaring or rolling of the arches , and may cause tramlining etc etc and wear bushes quicker

damn, so an offset of 40 and a width of 7.5" would be a rather bad way to go then?

:o cant see that working without a load of ballache with the arches

7.5" wheels wont fit easily with any offset and the car WILL handle shit

u want 6.5" et45-49

and i spose there's no way to personally change the offset of a wheel so it's more of a 45-49 area?

You can have the alloy machined if theres plenty of metal.

Cost around ?12-20 a wheel but there arent many places that do it.

Mine were a 42 and have gone back to Aberdeen (from Oxford) to have them machined to a 49.

Gotta be careful with machining tho as it can weaken the wheel

i'll have to do some digging around then, see where will and won't do that type of thing. cheers
