1.2 head

hi ive bought a 1.4 sr engine and i heard that its better to fit a 1.2 head to it as the 1.2 is a better design and flows better.

Any way ive got a complete 1.2 carb engine and a complete 1.4sr engine so can i just swap the head from the 1.2 on to the 1.4? ive noticed that the 1.2 has diferent shaped ports to the 1.4 so do i need to use the 1.2 inlet manifold aswel? and if so will the SR carb work on the 1.2 inlet?

firstly, look in the faq's section here http://www.novaload.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66762, secondly, use a 1.3 inlet if you want to use the twin choke carb.

whats the diference between a 1.2 carb inlet manifold and a 1.3sr inlet manifold? is it possible to fit a 1.4 sr carb to the 1.2 inlet or does it have to be a 1.3sr one?

As above there is a specific part of the site detailing this, But I have a 1.4 with 1.2 head. What you will need to do is get a 1.3sr inlet manifold (Twin choke) as the 1.4 has different inlet ports. Put a 32-34 carb on it & you will have some fun. You will not be able to put the 1.4 carb on.

he will ne able to use the 1.4 carb if hes fittin the 1.4 engine with the 1.2 head

but make sure you use the 1.4 cam aswell
