Air flow meter problem

On my Nova GTE engine, I can get it started but then it dies because the flapper in the air flow meter is not working. I can get the engine to run by moving the flapper with my hand. Any ideas what could be wrong??

have you run the car without a filter for a period of time. it may have just got shit high for some reason. (could have done it if the filter you are using is dirty too)

when you move the flap does it feel free. it should be very very easy to move as the vacum crated by the engine can easily pull it

yeah as you said its fucked, get a new one. this is a big problem with them engines.

I aint got a filter on it at the moment as I have just fitted the engine.
