Headunit Wiring ??

right when i brought my nova the headunit wiring was messed up and kept draining my battery because i was direct to the battery. so i wanted to wire it to my cig lighter wire so it requires the key turning to work. so i though simple enouth so i got on it and i wired the yellow & red wire to the black wire and the black earth wire to the brown on the plug and it did not work or so i thought on my system its got a fuse filter box where the red / yellow & black wires run through and its got 2 fuses inside a 15A and a 0.5A one but the 15A one blows once i turn the key any ideas please. thx in advance.

erm i have an idea...

get ride of your cig lighter idea and put it back where it was

now simply run a ingition/switched live from the fusebox across to behind the stereo.

now wire it up like it should be, using the earth, switched ignition and perm ignition

You need a perm live on the stereo to allow it to remember settings, still clock e.t.c when turned off.

m8 you got a wiring diagram for it or do i just use one of the empty fuse slots.
