Nurburgring Details Friday 13th May!

To everyone that is intrested in joining the PVG on the yearly trip to the Ring, the dates are now out.

The majority of people will be leaving on friday the 13th may at 9/9.30 sailing from Dover. And returning on monday 16th may. If you get down to Dover for about that time you should be able to meet up with a friendly convoy i.e nova neil :wink:

I will be travelling out on thursday 12th may at 11.15 from dover, returning on tuesday 17th may at 17.45. I am doing this as i have a number of days holiday to use up, plus i want to get a few more laps in with the evo :twisted:

So its up to you all when you decide to travel out, if you wish to join up with me it would be good to have a bit of a convoy if not see you all there on the friday. It really is up to you what you do when over there, last year everyone broke up into seperate groups and did ther own thing so dont expect a time table to be handed out :lol:

:o Nice mk1! I must say it looks a damn sight more like a car than mine does lol. I have most of the parts now, and soon i may get round to starting on the shell but its all just sitting in storage at the moment just like the nova! Look forward to seeing it mate, wouldnt mind a lap of the ring in the passenger seat can repay the favour in the evo :wink:

Where are you planning to stay? Adenau? Will you be over for the full weekend?

Hello All,

As Karl said I am going down Friday morning (13th) and staying the weekend then traveling back on the monday. Anyone who would like to join our convoy is more than welcome.

I've been on the P&O website and it looks like we're going to book the 9:05am Ferry (Dover - Calais) if this gets booked up there is one at 9:40am.

I will post details of where we will be meeting when you get off the ferry closer to when we go for those of you who would like to tag along.

I've been quoted ?81 return per car for the ferry which I believe is very reasonable!

Once there no doubt we shall meet up with Karl and his cronies :lol: and whop his Evo ass round the circuit :D lol

Im sure a passenger ride could be arranged. Its my mates car that we have both been working on it, in my garage. I will be driving it around the ring cos I can't afford to take my Nova. My mate has already said that he does not want to be in the passenger seat (he gets nervous), and yes we will be over the whole weekend. Can't wait!

I don't know where we are staying yet. Other cars that are coming with me are an escort cossie (RWD painted matt black and orange) with about 380bhp (I think) a Subaru with about the same bhp as the cossie and possibly a Nissan Pulsar (Built by Norris Designs) with about 340bhp.

We will all be going to Castle Combe in April as well. Got to get the Mk1 finished and run in buy the 4th April!!! :o My mate likes tight timescales.

Thanks for posting up Neil, i think you will have quite a large convoy on the way there mate! I know mark, maff etc are stopping off on the way to the ring for a beer session. Are you guys planning to come straight to the ring? Will get us all a restaurant booked up for friday night if you are.

As for beeting me round the ring neil, i dont doubt it for a second! the way the novas were going around donny i dont stand a chance! Oli can go out in front of me lol so i dont get wooped :lol:

Me again, just to let you know the ferrie times i mentioned above have worked out VERY cheap! I just payed for 2 car with 5 passengers in total and its worked out at ?60 per car regardless the amount of passengers! (total of 9 passengers but i would be impressed if you can get that many in a nova)

Last year i payed double that, so shop around people.

Go to the p&o ferries site, and choose the date and times, you can book online. Choose if you want to go with neil on the friday, or with us on the thursday.

As Karl mentioned i'll be traveling in my Calibra (as i've run out of money to finish the Nova just yet :cry: ).

I will be going straight there from Calais. So far I have 3 Nova's coming in my convoy, a Z3, Civic, a 2.0 egg (sorry Corsa) and my Calibra Plus hopefully a few Ax's (a right mix up of cars :lol: )

We shall be catching a ferry on Monday evening (Calais-Dover) around 5pm. But last year if your early or late they useally let you go on another ferry. So don't worry too much about the time you book your return ferry.

Noveo, i would recommend joining the AA 5 star just incase. It costs a fair bit but its worth it

p.s i highly recommend this b+b,it's clean, modern, well priced, the owner speaks english and some rooms have a view of the track!

when me and my mate went over for the second time last year we met some blokes (sounds a bit gay don't it!) and they recommended a b+b they stay at its a touch more expensive but if it comes recommended then its worth it, that second one we all stayed at was a bit shite don't ya think?

I'm all booked up, speed ferries, crossing dover-boulogne fri 13th :? at 7.45 (i think) returning tues 5.30pm ?38 return :!: i've also sorted a b+b recommended by some ring regulars we know, with off street parking, i'll post details later.
