i have a 1.5 diesel van and was wondering can i fit a turbo off a 1.7td cav .what sort of a job is it to fit it ,is it straight forward enough .if not will a 1.5td turbo fit on any easier. :-/

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the turbo on the 1.7 the same, just bigger block. They're both Isuzu engines. I don't think fitting it is as straight forward as it sounds, I know for a fact that the 15.D and 1.5TD radiators are different.

as long as the mounts will fit, and the driveshafts u will be ok, id go for a 1.7td from a cav or summit. plenty of poke in them :)

thanks for the replys ,but all i need is the turbo not the whole engine ,so shall i go for the turbo off the 1.7td cav

I'm not sure if it's as easy as that!!

The 1.7 looks the same as the 1.5 (still Isuzu) but apparently it is a bitch to fit into a nova!

fits in easy but the compression is lower on the td engines... i say get the whole 1.7td setup

p.s. fit a huge intercooler too
