Tune Up Help

I recently posted a topic about my Mpg, Like a couple of you said i should get my car tuned up. Its a 1 litre j reg Nova, Just wondering what should i have done? and how much will it cost? Ive been told to have the timing done, The tappets is this right?? What else would you recommened and how much would it cost?? Cheers

is it carb? did they make a 1 l injection? carb setting up on a gas machine, oil change, spark plug,plug leads, carb cleaner. all thos can effect your mpg.

Yeah it will be a carb.
You could get the mixture and idle set up perfectly on the carb so that the fueling is spot on, that will improve mpg and maybe even performance.
And the timing as already suggested.
