fingers and axes dont go well together.

i couldn't find a hammer in work today, so i used the back part of an axe.
well i missed.
well, if i was aiming for my finger then it was a good shot.

so apart from loads of skin being ripped off my finger, its all swallona and i think i might of given it a hairline fracture.
its still throbbing now after 8 hours or so.
good job its my left hand.

me being me, i would have used a sledge hammer then or even a 3lb club hammer.
think i would have done more damage then.

m8 - i,m a first aide ( and have been told I,m GOOD ONE ) so...It sounds like it may be fractured , but bruising can act in the same way.......THIS IS ONLY SOME KINDLY ADVISE AND THE RESPONSIBILITY TO FOLLOW THIS MESSAGE IS OF YOURE OWN DOING , but first and formost - get the swelling down to do this :
make sure youre wound is clean - use a running tap - NO TCP OR OTHER ANTISEPTICS ( they cause burns ) , get a bag of frozen peas , or the like place in a tee towel and wrap it around your injury...sit down and raise as high as you can - towards your shoulder IF THE PAIN IS UNBEARABLE AFTER APPLYING THE ICE COMPRESS A& E ASAP.If this relieves the pain - do this for no more than 20 mins - take ibruphen as well.....

IF this eleviates the pain you may have serious bruising , therefore use this method to draw the bruise out quicker ( make sure you are not alone - some folks are funny with fingers I,ve seen 6 ft door man pass out with a finger cut ) run a warm tap and place injury underneath , gradually increase heat until its seriously hot , move injury if possible , then go straight under the cold without delay...repeat 4-5 times ..expect pins and needles and the injury to change colour fast.

As for the cut use mild salt water only ....GOOD LUCK
