wat does this mean as i do not have a clue about gearboxes

doubt it. the F15 has lager diamter shafts

keep to a close ratio then, & sell the wide ratio box.

Close ratio has shorter gears & is better for acceleration & keeping the engine revs within their optimum rev range.

ive just looked at another gearbox i have and it is an f13
and has w418 on the side.

is this one the same as the other one?

an F10/F13 FD will NOT fit an F15 cluster

its like the big block boxes where the FD pinion is a cast part of the main shaft.

f13 box will fit your 16v bottom end i would have thought. They are virtually the same as 8v arn't they? (200/24mm fly)

the 16v runs a pot flywheel tho?

although this may only affect the clutch pressure plate and i suppose i could fit a std 1.6 gte flywheel and clutch to it if i had to

what kinda condition is this box u have in?

im not wanting to buy another shagged box!

the box was workin fine wen it was taken out and its just been sittin in me garage all this time.
well for about 6 months. ill get a pick for ya, is there anythins specific u wanna see on it?

u cant really tell the condition untill u take it apart

it wasnt notchy going into gears etc was it?
didnt howl or whine?

what car did it come out of?
what mileage?

it come out off me mates gte wen we done the 2 lt redtop conversion.

there was no whinin of grindin noise out of it.
