View Full Version : creased boot floor
the back of my car has had a light rear end impact, it has creased the boot floor but it hasn't effected the chassis, when i replace the rear panel can i just cut out the damaged part of the boot floor and weld in a new section?????
if its creased just straighten it again
and how would i do that it's creased right near the spare wheel well
take to any body shop and they'll stick it on a hydraulic jack. That'll pull it out. ?100 tops
Check the roof and gaps rould the doors for kinks. Also check for bowing on the rear arches.
A rear shunt will usually affect more then one panel as the shock wave travels - especially if its creased the wheel well...
Ade
and how would i do that it's creased right near the spare wheel wellno offence but if you dont know how to do that you shouldnt be attempting to replace the rear panel

heat it up and hit it with a hammer that will get the crease out
i haven't attempted to replace the rear panel burgo, i haven't touched it, i just need to know iff it is repairable as i'm starting work on the body work
ade the door gaps are fine, the rear wheel arches haven't been pushed out, its been hit in the centre of the rear, so the only panels damaged is the tailgate and the rear panel oh and the boot floor lol

can you still get the spare out?!!!!!
thats only a ickle crease, what you wanna do with that is smack the back panel with a sledge hammer until its almost straight the use a hammer and dolly to get it perfect
lol, ickle crease, yep i can get the spare out, so i just hit it with a hammer lol
lol, ickle crease, yep i can get the spare out, so i just hit it with a hammer loleither that or get a proper clamp to go onto the back panel then tie you car to a post with a chain and keep rolling it back then pushing it forward until its straight
agree with burgo - its quite a sharp crease - hammer and dolly work will flatten it.
Still think a body shops the easier option. For hammer and doolly, you really need someone to old the dolly underneath whilst you hammer - tapping rather the whacking.
you could remove the rear wheel space altogether and blank it off - that way you can have a centre exhaust!
