Just thought id say thanks to everybody as i am always on the site and have asked quite a few questions which have always been answered.

I am in the process on building a XE'd Nova and the help on here has been very useful. I have had around 6 Novas it total so have gained a bit of a rep as a Nova freak round me way :o

First was a 1.2 Flair that rotted to pieces, then a GTE that ended up in a ditch, then a mint red 1.0 that i started modding but lost interest due to the lack of power. I then bought a tidy 1.4SR which was decked 60mm on adj's, cherrybomb exhaust and i loved it until some tosser in a Rover smashed into the front and claimed it was all my fault (Suppose he has a point as i was fiddling with the stereo) Then came along a mint Gsi that i had for a week. Went to show off my new toy and got totalled by a granny in a polo (Damage to mine=write off, Damage to her Polo=nothing) :cry:

I gave up on Novas as i thought i was cursed but after driving a few cars they were never the same. I was driving along when i spotted my old 1.0 that had been nicked and dumped, i nearly cryed. I managed to get hold of the owner who just wanted rid so i got it for ?100, no damage except a smashed steering column and a bent door.

So i put it down to fate re-uniting me with my old Nova so have decided it will return bigger & better as a 2L 16v. Did start with buying a load of bits from here: Twin 40's irmscher inlet 1.3 Ported & Polished Head, 1.4 Bottom end etc but swapped the lot for an XE with some conversion bits.

Tasty mods include:
MK1 Gte bumpers
80mm custom springs
Bilstein rears / Spax Adj front
1/2 Roll Cage
1 off bonnet
False floor to replace rear seats
Swade roof lining & door cards
Heated Leather Nova Gsi seats
The list goes on... :wink:

Well sorry for boring you all to death with my life story, just though id try and slot it to the Nova community!

Does seem you have had a bit of bad luck mate. happens to the best of us. i crashed me nova b4 xmas, went around a corner n lost the back end into a lamp post. im was fin the car on the other hand was fuked. but becuase of that wudnt have got me fairly mint (not perfect but better than me old 1) 1.2sx :D

It must be fate get it sorted and make it into somethign that spits in all the faces of the wanna be boy racers! lol :D

I think you should have stayed with the small block engine there. You already had some nice stuff for it!
Also I'm not sure how happy your car will be on -80mm springs when the valver gets dropped in! Might not be able to turn the wheels full lock!
Better luck in the future, most people have a crash or two if they've owned a nova but as time goes on you get to know the car better!

did you just aquire the heating froma Cav/calibra ?

I must say i am a bit worried about how low the car will be on a 80mm drop especially with an XE in!

I sometimes think i would have been better off keeping the SR stuff, the lad got a right deal for the XE, I had everything ready to fit and it would have been less hassle than fitting the XE.

I will post some pics up later of my car in it's sorry state, also them leathers. They are re-trimmed Nova Gsi seats in black leather with red piping down the sides. They have been done by Just Novas originally but i don't know how much they are worth. I put them up on Ebay a while ago and a chap from Just Novas wanted to by them back! The heated bits are from a couple of old Volvo GLS's. They are easy to get and quite cheap, i paid ?30 for 2 sets, 1 is better than the other (might be selling 1 set). I got too as i was going to have rear heated seats also but decided to rip the rear seats out.
