1.4sr vs 306 td

i've just put a 1.4sr lump in my nova will it be quicker than my mates 306 turbo diesel.

I had a race against a 306 1.9Tdi I killed it everytime (I kept slowing down back to him so I could beat him again) the race went on from all the way to 110mph and I was infront all the time. then I came to my junction. that'll teach him for trying to impress his missus. I totally blitzd him.

My mate has a 306 19TD and it goes. I have a 1.4 16v engine in my nova, not running quite right but I can d1ck sr's no prob. Only just beat my mate in his 306.
Don't be suprised if you can't beat him

My mate Robs got a 306 diesel...not sure which it is though, but it's bloody quick.
Put it this way, he kept up quite well with me in my GTE!
I still won though :)

Actually, what happened was we were at the side of each other at the lights going on to junc. 35 M1 roundabout with another set of lights just round the roundabout.
What you do is set off and buy the time you get to the next lights, they always change so you don't slow down for 'em.
I shot off leaving him for dust and was heading for the next lights already doing 50ish, then thought they weren't going to change....I slammed on the brakes, skidded a little (oops) then they bloody changed! I put my foot down but by that time, I'd lost most of my speed and I was trying to accelerate up in third up the slip road onto the M1 from 20mph.....I should have dropped down to 2nd really.
Even so, I beet him...hehehe Would have been by miles if I'd been in the right gear though!
