Iv got blue smoke coming from my exhaust on acceleration, Ive checked my compression and its between 11 & 12 bar on all the cylinders, the plugs dont have any oil fouling on them and it seems sluggish, Could it be blocked crankase breathers? or old thin oil? Please help!
Thanks
Adam
Blue smoke is usually Oil related...
Could be worn piston rings, or possibly it could be overfueling, and your getting mixed up between black and Blue smoke...
is it definetly blue ?

Could be something to do with fuel filter?? sure ive heard of that causing blue smoke before 8)
Most probably valve stem oil seals!
IIRC
If its blue smoke when you boot it, then its piston rings.
If its blue smoke when decelerating then its the valve stem seals.
You ain't put too much oil in or nough have you.

have you just filled with oil? because if you have your engines just burning it off. nothing to worry about really, not that good for the engine but nothing worth loosing sleep over.
if not that than could be a dirty filter. again nothing to loose sleep over.
what are the recent changes youve done to your car, about a week before the smoke, if any?

If it is blue smoke then it would most probably be stem seals or piston rings, one of which costs about 3 pound to sort out the other a fair bit more.
lol ?3 and the rest of the head gasket set.
the rings can burn as white smoke by the way!

lol well ermmm yeah for the seals it very little, forgot bout head set but who needs that anyway. You can just bodge it back on
I had blue smoke on accelleration and it was a worn piston ring - quite a mission to fix!

If the rings are screwed then take the enigne out and then throw it in the nearest bin!

why throw it when you can fix it easily? don't even need to take engine out of car. (unless your doing a re-bore at the same time.)

how did ya fix it ?
I stripped the engine down bit by bit, then took the block to a workshop to have it rebored, new pistons fitted and they lightened my flywheel too, that took a couple of days, then I got the block + fly back and put the engine and box back together. (Gearbox was suspended by jack for the whole time).
Took about 4 days in total, 2 for removal & 2 for refitting, and was done over 2 weekends. All this was done outside my house in the road (student terrace hosuing!)
