same fitting as the 2lt 16v really, so not a straight swap im afraid, most only make about 115bhp, with a few making 130bhp but these are quite rare now.

oh rite do you know anywhere that sells the fitting kit for it and is it really worth it or shall i just go for a 16v

personally i would go for the 16v as you will only want to go up to the 16v at a later date

i see wot you mean it just i dont think my chassis will take the power of a 16v coz the front crossmember had rusted away so i have rewelded it but i not sure how strong it is can you buy strenghing kits for the chassis

your going to need to seam weld the whole engine bay anyway, if your cross member is that bad then you might as well replace it whiel your at it. You shouldnt need strengthening plates for road, just as long as its welded up good.

right before embarking on this escapde id make sure the chassis is sound. eg weld in a new x member if necessary etc and maybe while youve got the welder out, go round parts of the bay such as engine mounrs locations, the inner wings and the inner TCA mounts. stitch weld it to prevent long cracks etc.

then work out if you will be happy with a 115 (or 130 if your lucky) 2.0 as opposed to the 16v. as said fitting is the same, just loom changes etc.

dont forget you will need mk2 cav 1600 inner CV joints and 22 spline gte drive shafts, the shafts are going up in value as people are needing them for this conversion.

basically make sure the car is sound before buning extra weight /power in the bay

rite so do you reckon it will be easier to just get a 2.0L 16v fitting kit for ?400 quid from cossvaux and that comes with hubs shafts moutings the lot then just get a 2.o 16v from a scrapy
