Mpg!?!?!

I have a 1 litre nova, I filled it up with ?27 of petrol, an i managed 180 miles on that, and it does about 230ish on the motorway. Is this about right?? i have no idea and it seems to go quickly!

Hmm not bad but for a 1 litre seems to be using alot ... in my Sr i stuck ?30 and i got 330 miles on the motorway and i still had quite a bit left round town i was getting like 30-40 MPG so a one litre should be doing alot more my mums fiesta 1.1 ghia LOL does about 53 MPG

The choke does effect petrol, as with the choke out more petrol goes into the cylinders.

So the longer the choke is on, the quicker petrol will go down.

180miles on ?27 seems alrate, one week in my astra i did 54miles to ?10 :roll: :lol:

i used to get 45 to a tenner in my laguna .. but i think for a 1 litre thats a hell of alot .. my auto choke kicks in for like 2 mins then its running at normal revs ..

at 80p a litre ?27 = 33.75litres

1 gallon = 4.54litres

33.75/4.54 = 7.43 gallons

180/7.43 = 24.22mpg

as an example my 1.6 16v normally does 250ish miles to 35litres of fuel

35/4.54 = 7.7gal

250/7.7 = 32.4mpg (my apologies to the people i told that it was doing 40mpg but i was told 5 litres is a gallon when infact 5 litres is 1.1 gallon)

so i'd say your 1.0 needs a tune up lol

i dunno. i mean when i had the 1.2 it was running perfect (mixture wise) and i got 180 miles from a full tank as it was just nipping around swansea at the time. but another time i had nearly 400 from the full tank (very skint so it was nursed lol)

it all depends how you drive to be fair.

my 1.2 with 1b1 carb would do 333 miles on about 37litres (41mpg)
1.2 with 2e3 carb would do 300 miles on 37 litres.
1.3 with 2e3 would do 280 miles on 37 litres.
1.3 with 32/34 would do about the same.
1.3 with T40's does 280 miles on about 38 litres (its 34-38mpg depending on journey length).

My hatch could manage about 350-400 miles to a full tank, with about 65% urban driving. 4 speed, with 195/45/15 wheels.

lol the Celica does about half that, with a bigger fuel tank and more gears :lol:

My Td nova does 300miles to ?20 approx 55-60mpg
My 1.6 16v nova has seen 49mpg on a run to newquay and back (500mile round trip) altho as soon as u put ur foot down it drops into gpm, :D
My old M3 used to do 60miles on ?10 of fuel approx 20-25mpg, altho it got as low as 40miles to ?10 on occasion, :lol:

I managed 220 miles to ?20 in my E16SE. But depends on traffic what gears I'm using and whether I put my footdown or not. The mpg drops significantly when driving above 3,500 rpm!

Normal driving in a 1.2 you should get about 100miles to a tenner.

My 2.0 16v will do about 80miles to ?10 if driven carefully.

My mums 1.5D 106 used to get me over 150miles to ?10! :lol:

my 1.2 carb with 5speed box will do 44k tho mite have somert to do with it

?10 - 60-120 miles
?15 -100-215
full tank ?28 -280-400

this is motorway town and the the trip to work cycle

Due to the compression of my engine, It pinks on anything other then Super unleaded! so around here its 89.9p a litre for Super unleaded!
Now I go to Sainsburys & get nectar points for me dad! Lol 83.9p a litre! Thats the same as unleaded at other petrol stations!
& My car costs about ?40 to do around 250-300 miles.

I done this as soon as i got my nova it almost doubled the effiency of the fuel,

I'm still not sure it's that good on petrol though....

I think i may boot it a lil too often... :wink:

lol my dad put ?60 in his car last week and it was gone in 6 days. I mean he does about 50 odd miles a day but his car drinks petrol likei dont no what.

I get between 35 and 45 to the gallon although im sure when i boot it i get about 20 LOL

in my 1.2i i get about 140-150 miles for ?15 of optimax, and i only realy go out on the motorway once a week. and most of my driving is town driving, and i do give it a thrashinge around country lanes every now and again.

i think it works out sumit like 35-40mpg.

i have no idea what i get on the motoway yet, havent done a longe jurny to figure it out.

so id say i get just over 35mpg for town driving
