hmph

I'd personally get a Kent AST2 cam, this is what i have got (even tho it's not on an engine)

They are a 290degree cam i think, which means your power isn't, going to be too peaky, but it'l be mainly over 3000rpm. Anything higher than a 290deg, e.g a 300deg cam, will be really peaky.

You can but the cam, or the kit maybe an idea.

The kit includes, Kent Lifters/followers,Kent stiffened valve springs, Cam Pullies, Cam Belt, Cam itself e.t.c

I've been advised either way on the kit, some peeps have said the lifters/followers are worse than standard GM units, some said it's an improvment.

If the lifters are fine and not make a clicking noise at all, just get the cam

Really, whichever make it is, most of the cams will be roughly the same quality (if they have the same lift)

Yeah 290 cam is a nice option, U gonna put that on the 1.6 though arent you Nick?
I think my cam kicks in about 2200rpm-4000rpm. Nice little boost.

yep tis going in the 1.6

but the AST2 is the same for all the nova engines i think, so it's a good part to buy, and carry on engine to engine.

e.g snowface is taking his AST2 from his 1.3SR engine into his 1.6 engine.

Like I said in the other posts im considering a 1.6 conversion If I blow the bottom end up this year, I would take my 285 with me too.

the ast range is designed for use with carburettors. The NVO range is for use with injection.

the ast2 kit i reccommend, it doesn't come with a vernier or belt though but tbh you will find you won't really need a vernier unless you got some other serious mods.

Dan runs an ast2 on his 1.6 and his has good power figures and good pull right through the rev's.
