My 1.4 1991 SR refuses to start up properly when cold, needing repeated starting and revving up till it's warmed through.
Is there a reliable fix for this with the existing carb, or failing that, whats the best solution? (My local Vauxhall spares centre says that suitable carbs with a manual choke are non existant) As i am new to Nova's can someone advise me please?

The auto choke on that model of carb is very poor. You could try and take it apart and give it a clean/ replace parts.

Fitting Twin carbs may not be the cheapest or most simple fix to the problem lol!!

I have been onto the Carburettor Hospital in Rochford Essex. After failing to find any reasonably priced alternatives, the very helpful bloke is sending me a replacement cold start kit (new water controlled choke), so fingers crossed, it'll be sorted by the weekend!
Thanks for the tips.
32/34 seems like loads of money, and could nt find a manual choke kit.
