Just replaced my amber side indicators with the clear ones - straight swap. I got some orange bulbs with the clear indicators - but the bulbs that were already behind the indicator plastics are clear.

Am i ok to use the clear ones, or have i got to change them to orange?

Thanks,

Jim

as long as they flash orange your within the law! but beware of the fried egg!!!!!

to combat this there are some chrome coated style lenses that flash orange. these will make your car road legal again.

Its Silvatec bulbs you want. They're a normal bulb but with a layer of silver paint on them so they appear clear but flash orange. Places such as Demon Tweeks, Speeding and etc sell them.

My front indicators on the saloon are clear lenses with white bulbs and I've never had any trouble with them.... but they do give a kinda yellowy light so theats probably why I've gotten away with it. If the light is blatantly white then you'll be best to get some orange/silvatec bulbs.

Are there silvertek bulbs available that will fit the front indicators as i have got clear ones of these fitted aswell. The amber bulb is really visable though :?

Direct Car Parts sell them here (http://www.dcp-shop.co.uk/buy-car-accessories/default.php?cPath=1_2421_2423), but I should imagine if you shop around you can get them cheaper.

If you have a mk2 with the wrap around lights, remove the side repeaters as they look gash anyway
